CREATING SPACES FOR PEOPLE

Architectural Design and Supervision

Architecture and engineering are where ERKON’s story began – and they remain an important part of who we are.
We approach the built environment by combining functionality, aesthetics, sustainability and an understanding of how people experience space.
Our architectural work ranges from architectural design and technical documentation to renovation, reconstruction and projects involving cultural heritage.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Architectural design · Conceptual design · Technical documentation · Reconstruction and renovation · Cultural heritage · Interior and spatial design · Construction supervision · Feasibility studies · Cost-benefit analysis · Energy renovation

OUR EXPERIENCE

Over the years, we have delivered architectural design and supervision services for both private and public investors, across a wide range of building types – from family houses and multi-apartment buildings to hospitals, such as the General Hospital in Požega, office buildings and large-scale retail facilities, such as Pivac Group.

LEARNING EXPERIENCES DESIGNED TO CREATE CHANGE

Education & Capacity Building

We design educational programmes for professionals, students, young people, public authorities, businesses and other target groups.
Our programmes combine knowledge with practical application. We use challenge-based learning, teamwork, mentoring, study visits, simulations, workshops, games and real-world cases to create learning experiences that participants can translate into action.
From a single workshop to a complete learning programme, we can design the methodology, curriculum, learning materials and participant journey – and deliver the programme from beginning to end.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Training programme design · Curriculum development · Workshops and bootcamps · Challenge-based learning · Summer schools · Mentoring programmes · Training materials · Facilitation · Learning evaluation

OUR EXPERIENCE

Through EIT Urban Mobility, we have designed and delivered programmes including ChargeUp 2.0, RIS ECOMOVE and She Creates Change. Our work within URBACT and the European Urban Initiative (EUI) further extends our experience in transnational learning, knowledge transfer, peer learning and capacity building for cities and local stakeholders.

TURNING GOOD IDEAS INTO IMPLEMENTABLE PROJECTS

Development of Projects and Pilots

We help organisations develop project ideas from the first concept to a complete funding proposal. This includes shaping the intervention logic, building partnerships, designing activities and work packages, defining results and impacts, preparing budgets and coordinating the overall application process.
Our experience covers different European funding programmes, with a focus on sustainability, urban development, mobility, education, climate and innovation. We can join the process at an early stage when there is only an idea – or help strengthen an already developed project concept, joining as a projectpartner.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Project concept development · Funding opportunity assessment · Partnership development · Proposal writing · Work package and activity design · Budget development · Impact frameworks · Application coordination

OUR EXPERIENCE

We have developed and secured funding for projects under a range of European and national programmes, including EIT Urban Mobility, Interreg and other EU funding schemes. Most of the projects we develop subsequently become projects we coordinate or implement ourselves.

FROM COMPLEX CHALLENGES TO A CLEAR WAY FORWARD

Strategy & Planning

We support cities, public institutions and private companies in developing strategies, action plans and roadmaps.
For public-sector clients, our work focuses particularly on sustainable urban development, mobility, climate and energy. For private companies, we support strategic planning related to decarbonisation, sustainable mobility, energy transition and broader sustainability goals, helping organisations identify priorities and define practical pathways towards measurable change.
Our aim is that strategies respond to real needs and can be effectively implemented.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Strategic and action planning · Sustainable urban development · Sustainable mobility planning · Decarbonisation strategies · Corporate sustainability planning · Green Travel Plans · Implementation roadmaps · Monitoring frameworks

OUR EXPERIENCE

As an example, within the RIS ECOMOVE project, we supported companies in developing Green Travel Plans, translating mobility and sustainability goals into practical measures to reduce the environmental impact of employee commuting and business-related mobility. We also advise European cities on designing and implementing their Sustainable Urban Development strategies.

GOOD DECISIONS START WITH UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM

Research, Analysis & Evaluation

We conduct research and analysis to support strategies, projects, policies and investment decisions. Depending on the assignment, we combine desk research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, surveys, interviews, stakeholder consultations and benchmarking.
We are particularly interested in translating complex information into conclusions that decision-makers can actually use.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Desk research · Policy and strategic analysis · Surveys and interviews · Qualitative research · Needs assessment · Stakeholder analysis · Benchmarking and good-practice analysis · Project evaluation · Impact assessment

OUR EXPERIENCE

Our research has informed strategies, action plans and project development across our work. For example, for the development of the Local Action Plan for the Energy-Efficient Mobility System of the City of Karlovac, we combined surveys, interviews and stakeholder engagement to understand local mobility needs and translate them into concrete actions.

TOOLS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT LEARNING AND PLANNING

Tools & Methodologies

We design practical tools and methodologies that support learning, analysis, planning, collaboration and decision-making. Depending on the purpose and target group, these can range from digital learning tools and online courses to structured workshop methodologies, analytical frameworks, templates, canvases and educational games.
We particularly enjoy transforming complex topics into engaging, structured and easy-to-use formats that help participants explore problems, understand different perspectives, work collaboratively and translate knowledge into action.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Online courses & learning tools · Educational and serious games · Planning and analytical tools · Workshop methodologies · Frameworks & canvases · Assessment tools · Guidelines & toolkits · Custom tools for specific projects and processes

OUR EXPERIENCE

We have developed a range of offline learning tools, including gamified learning tools for She Creates Change and online courses supporting our international summer schools. We have also designed structured games, canvases and methodologies that support collaborative learning, planning, analysis and capacity-building processes.

BRINGING THE RIGHT PEOPLE INTO THE CONVERSATION

Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Creation

We design and facilitate participatory processes that help different stakeholders understand each other’s perspectives, identify common priorities and work together towards solutions.
Our role is not simply to organise meetings. We create structured processes, select appropriate participatory methods and facilitate discussions in a way that turns diverse perspectives into useful insights and concrete next steps.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Stakeholder mapping · Co-creation processes · Participatory workshops · Focus groups · World Café and other collaborative methods · Decision journey mapping · Consensus building · Multi-stakeholder processes · Workshop design and facilitation

OUR EXPERIENCE

Through our work within URBACT, we have extensive experience in facilitating transnational learning and local stakeholder engagement processes. Our work includes designing and facilitating workshops, supporting URBACT Local Groups (ULGs), stakeholder mapping, co-creation and peer-learning activities, and helping diverse stakeholders turn discussion and shared knowledge into concrete actions.

CREATING INTERFACES BETWEEN IDEAS AND PEOPLE

Professional Events & Knowledge Exchange

We design and organise meetups, study visits, conferences and other professional events around sustainable development, urban mobility, climate, innovation and related topics. We shape the concept and programme, identify and engage relevant speakers and experts, and create formats that bring together different perspectives and encourage meaningful exchange.
Beyond organisation, we moderate and facilitate events, creating space for dialogue, networking and new connections between people, knowledge and ideas.

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Event concept & programme design · Speaker identification and engagement · Conferences & meetups · Study trips & professional visits · Moderation · Panel discussions · Facilitation · Interactive formats · Networking & knowledge exchange

OUR EXPERIENCE

Our experience includes the co-organisation of a study visit within the CityWalk 2.0 project, bringing together international participants to explore practical approaches to sustainable urban mobility in Northern Europe. We have also organised and moderated conferences, meetups and professional events connecting experts, cities, businesses and other stakeholders around sustainable development topics.
