Decarbonising corporate mobility: RIS ECOMOVE hosts first outreach event in Zagreb

The RIS ECOMOVE project, funded by EIT Urban Mobility, held its first outreach event on June 3 in Zagreb. The event brought together key public and private stakeholders committed to the decarbonisation of businesses and the advancement of sustainable corporate mobility.
Titled “New Opportunities and Challenges in Decarbonising Companies,” the event featured three short presentations and three panel discussions, showcasing insights from government representatives, startups, and sustainability experts.
Key takeaways
Ana Juras from the Croatian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition and Aleksandar Halavanja from the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund emphasised the public sector’s openness to collaboration. Both highlighted upcoming funding opportunities, including a soon-to-be-launched call for the purchase of zero-emission vehicles, while clarifying all investment priorities within the Modernisation Fund.

Bikademy and Remea, represented by Krešimir Herceg and Klement Kralj—two startups previously supported by the Accelerate2Move EIT Urban Mobility accelerator – shared their insights on the opportunities and challenges of delivering B2B solutions helping decarbonisation. They also explained how their innovations can support corporate clients in reducing and monitoring emissions, highlighting the experience with clients such as HBOR, Solvership and strong players from the hospitality sector. The panel also addressed the soon-to-be-published EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Call as an opportunity to test i.e. pilot innovative solutions by a potential public or private client.
Andreja Pavlović representing Oikon Ltd. – Institute of Applied Ecology, Nikolina Markota Vukić, a founder of IDOP – The Croatian Institute for CSR, and Anja Kuhar from Solvership brought critical insights into the role and position of sustainable mobility within the ESG frameworks. They stressed the importance of a process-oriented approach and high-quality data in achieving corporate sustainability goals, mobility-related or not.

Additional presentations that covered the topics of corporate change, fleet electrification and ESG were held by Petra Grgasović, Karlo Evdjenić and Petra Maltar.
Finally, the event was just a first step in addressing the topic of sustainable corporate mobility in Croatia. A bigger follow-up is scheduled in September, so stay tuned!
