ChargeUp 2.0 News: 196 Applications in 2026!

Following the completion of the initial phase of the application process, the ChargeUp 2.0 programme entered a new phase of building teams that will be working on solutions for the green transition and sustainable energy.
The first round of the call for applicants received a total of 196 applications from 18 eligible countries, confirming strong interest among students from related fields in developing solutions that address energy, sustainability, and climate challenges.
According to Neven Zenko from the programme’s organising team, who was once a summer school participant himself:
“The number of applications exceeded our expectations. We are delighted that so many students want to develop innovative solutions and contribute to building a greener future. We look forward to working with them and seeing the results they will deliver this year.”
Following the first phase of the process, 129 applicants have been invited to the second phase of the evaluation and selection procedure. In this second phase, participants took a structured online knowledge test designed to further assess their understanding of key aspects of the green transition. The test included questions covering the technological, social, environmental, and economic dimensions of sustainable transformation. It was time-limited and could only be taken once.
What will happen next?
Now, the results of the first and second phase will be added and the top-ranked 36 candidates will be invited to join the summer school. The first activities for participants already start on June 19!
